This guide will teach you how to transfer the ownership of your Bubble app to someone else. This is an essential feature if you’re a Bubble freelancer, building products for clients, or if you’ve sold your Bubble app of your own.

Today we’re going to take a look at how to transfer ownership of an app in Bubble. Now, why would you want to transfer ownership of your app in the first place?
If you’ve finished building an app for a client within your Bubble account, it’s best practice to properly hand over the product.
Another reason could be that your application was acquired, in which case, you’d transfer the ownership to the new buyer.
When it comes to the process, we’ll start by opening the home page of your Bubble app.
In our example today, I’ve created a sample app named ‘Boats, boats, boats’. This app consists of satirical photos of me in front of boats.
Now, let’s say that I’ve just sold my application to a new owner. This is where we’ll start the official process of transferring the product.
2. Managing your Bubble app settings
If you open the settings tab within your Bubble editor, you’ll see a menu called ‘collaboration’. If you open this menu, you’ll then see an option to invite a user. Within the input field provided, simply add the email address of the person with who you’d like to take ownership of your Bubble app. This will be your client or buyer’s email address.
3. How to transfer your app to another email
Throughout the process, it’s important to know that the person receiving this email must also have an active Bubble account.
It’s also important to know that the process of transferring an app to someone else is not reversible, so please do this with caution. Once you transfer an app, you cannot get it back unless they transfer it back to you.
Once we’ve added the correct email address, we’ll select the ‘transfer’ button.
4. How to receive ownership of an app
After sending ownership of an app to a new email address, I’d also like to show you what this experience looks like as the person who is receiving the app.
If I log into my second email address, I’ll then see that I’ve received a message from Bubble that states I’m now the owner of the application. If I was to also log into my second Bubble account, I’d see that the original app is now accessible from my account.
